Spa Choice Hot Tub Sanitizing Granules (2-Pack)

The Spa Choice 472-3-3031-02BX Sanitizing Granules are designed to quickly and completely dissolve, providing a steady source of available chlorine to spa water. The chlorine granules help control algae growth, kill bacteria, and destroy organic contaminants. This product is also stabilized to protect against ultraviolet radiation from the sun, increasing the lifespan of the chlorine.

To use the Spa Choice Sanitizing Granules, evenly broadcast the product over the deepest area of the spa while the water is circulating. Each level teaspoon (0.17 ounces) of the granules will provide approximately 1.4 ppm of available chlorine in 500 gallons of water. Users should test the water and adjust the pH to 7.2-7.8, total alkalinity to 60-100 ppm, and calcium hardness to a minimum of 200 ppm for proper spa and hot tub operation. The cyanuric acid level should not exceed 150 ppm. It is recommended to drain the spa or hot tub every 30-90 days, or more frequently if heavily used.

For start-up of a freshly filled spa or hot tub, add 6 teaspoons of the Spa Choice Sanitizing Granules per 500 gallons of water. Check the free available chlorine (FAC) and add more product if the level is below 4-5 ppm. Re-entry into the treated spa is prohibited if chlorine levels exceed 3 ppm.

During regular use, turn on the circulation system and scatter approximately 3 teaspoons of the Sanitizing Granules per 500 gallons of water over the surface. Test the FAC and add more product if necessary to maintain 4-5 ppm. While the spa or hot tub is in use, maintain 1-3 ppm FAC. After each use, shock treat the water with 9 teaspoons of the product per 500 gallons to control odors and algae, repeating as needed. Re-entry is prohibited above 3 ppm chlorine.

The Spa Choice 472-3-3041 Re-Energize Hot Tub Shock is a non-chlorine oxidizing shock treatment. It oxidizes organic contaminants such as ammonia, perspiration, and suntan lotion, and also removes chloramines and bromamines. This enhances the sanitizing effectiveness of chlorine and bromine by reducing the formation of new chloramines and bromamines. Re-Energize also improves water clarity and reduces eye irritation.

To use the Re-Energize shock treatment, add 2 ounces per 300 gallons of water after each use. Run the pump for at least 30 minutes, and turn the jets on and off once or twice to improve the treatment.

This package includes 2 pounds of Spa Choice Sanitizing Granules with 56% available chlorine to control algae and bacteria, as well as 1 pack of 2 pounds of the non-chlorine Spa Choice Re-Energize shock treatment.
